Spreading Holiday Cheer: The CML EDA Christmas Party and Toy Drive
The Cowichan-Malahat-Langford (CML) Electoral District Association (EDA) recently came together to celebrate the holiday season at our annual Christmas party, and what a heartwarming event it turned out to be! Along with enjoying the festive spirit, we focused on giving back to our community by collecting unwrapped gifts for the Duncan Salvation Army Christmas Toy Drive.
Today, I had the privilege of joining another candidate applicant in presenting these toys to the incredible volunteers at the Salvation Army. I also had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with these amazing individuals who dedicate their time and energy to helping families in need. Their passion and commitment to ensuring children and families have a joyful holiday season were truly inspiring.
Knowing that our contributions will brighten Christmas mornings for children in our community is a feeling like no other. However, despite the generosity we’ve seen, there is still a great need for support. The Salvation Army continues to look for donations of unwrapped toys and, importantly, cash contributions to meet the growing demand. Cash donations are tax-deductible and allow the organization to address specific needs for families and children.
If you are in a position to help, I encourage you to give what you can. And if you or someone you know is in need of support this holiday season, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Salvation Army. Their work ensures that every family has the opportunity to celebrate the holidays with joy and dignity.
This holiday season, let’s come together as a community to make sure no child is left without a gift and no family goes without the support they need. Thank you to everyone who contributed to our toy drive, and a heartfelt thank you to the incredible volunteers at the Salvation Army who turn generosity into hope. Meeting and talking with them reminded me of the power of kindness and community spirit.
Together, we can make this season brighter for all.
