From Our Family to Yours: A Christmas Eve Reflection

On this Christmas Eve, as the warmth of the season surrounds us, I want to take a moment to speak directly from my heart. Christmas is a time for reflecting, connection and faith. It reminds us of the values that bind us as a community: kindness, compassion, unity, and above all, hope. As we gather with family and friends, we are reminded of the blessings in our lives and the responsibility we have to uplift those who may be struggling during this season.

To our veterans, seniors and those facing mental, physical or addiction-related challenges: you are not alone. This community stands with you. If you know someone who may be struggling, take a moment to connect with them. A kind word, a warm gesture or simply your presence can make an immeasurable difference. And if you find yourself in need, please reach out. There is strength in seeking support and this community is here for you.

Faith remains at the heart of Christmas, celebrating the birth of Christ and the love He brings to the world. While we honour and respect the diversity of beliefs that enrich our region, we must ensure that the essence of Christmas and its Christian foundation are not forgotten. Faith is not something to be celebrated in isolation but as part of the tapestry that makes our community vibrant and resilient. Let us cherish this season as a time to come together and find strength in our shared values of hope, love and giving.

This year, as my wife Angel, our children and I enjoy time together as a family, I remain committed to working hard for the betterment of our community. Representing Cowichan-Malahat-Langford is not just a responsibility but an honour. My core values of integrity, compassion and dedication guide me every day. My proven ability to listen, connect and gain the trust and respect of constituents—including those who may initially support other candidate applicants—positions me as the best choice to represent you in Parliament.

Now, more than ever, we are at a critical crossroads. Supporting my candidacy is not just about leadership; it’s about ensuring that our riding has the strength and unity needed to win. While I deeply respect the efforts of other candidate applicants, I am confident that my experience, vision, and ability to build consensus make me the only choice to secure victory for our community. This is a time to come together, not to divide, and to focus on what’s truly at stake for our future.

During this season of giving, I encourage everyone to support a charity that resonates with them. Many organizations rely on our generosity to help those in need. Santa’s Anonymous, the Salvation Army and local food banks, among others continue to make a significant impact in our community throughout the year with their many programs. My family and I have had the pleasure of supporting them in various ways and will continue to do so in the coming year. Your contributions, no matter how small, can make a profound difference in someone’s life.

To our deployed service members and their families; we honour your sacrifices and thank you for your service. Your courage and dedication are the foundation of our freedom and we are forever grateful.

Finally, I want to thank the riding association’s Board of Directors and Nomination Committee for their tireless dedication and hard work. Your commitment to our community is invaluable. I also extend my gratitude to the other candidate applicants for their efforts. Together, we are contributing to the betterment of Cowichan-Malahat-Langford.

On behalf of myself, my wife Angel, our children and our entire team, we wish you a Christmas filled with warmth, hope and connection.

Now is the time to act. If you haven’t already, please get or renew your CPC membership and share this message with others to help spread the word about our vision for Cowichan-Malahat-Langford. Your support is critical as we work together toward a brighter future. I invite you to message me with any thoughts or concerns and to schedule a meet-and-greet. I would love to come and talk to a small or large group of you and like-minded individuals. Let us come together to build a community that we can all be proud of one where no one is left behind and where every voice matters. Together, we can create a stronger, more united future as we rebuild our nation.

Merry Christmas to you and yours,

Jeff, Angel, Family and Team
