My grandfather, Colonel Rasheed Khan, led a life of dedication and service. As an officer in the Indian Army, he fought alongside the British Army during World War II, demonstrating remarkable courage and commitment in one of history’s most challenging periods. His career took him to Iraq, where he continued his service with the Indian Army. In 1946, he was selected for training at the prestigious Royal Military College of Science in Shrivenham, UK. His talent and expertise saw him promoted to the rank of Colonel where he served as the Inspector of Technical Development; a position that underscored his contributions to advancing military technology. In 1956, after a distinguished career, he retired and immigrated to Canada, where he continued his service in a civilian role at the Department of National Defence in Ottawa. His life and legacy continue to be an inspiration, marked by a profound commitment to his service and his family.
